Although food intake was the same in the neutral and stressed conditions, food choice favoured sweet high-fat choices after the stress condition. Culturally we tend to see that response as bad, but it may have similar function to the presumed serotonin modulation seen for women in the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle [site owner comment].
