Numerous observations based on meta-analysis of various twin studies. Neuroticism was the only significant predictor of AN. This finding is consistent with antecedent anxiety disorders who later develop AN. Prevalence of An increased in both sexes between 1935-1958. Authors conclude that AN has moderate heritability.
