Review article: Obesity, waist–hip ratio and hunter–gatherers

TW. The discussion of different kinds of obesity is valid, the conclusion as to how truncal obesity should be managed is not. Author references two studies as to why diet should be manipulated for women with truncal obesity: the first unequivocally states: "Among never smoking women and ex- and current smokers, categories of large body fatness did not predict increased mortality." The second is the Iowa Women's Health Study where intentional weight loss was indicative of increased mortality, not lowered mortality.
